How to celebrate Christmas in Barcelona the best way.

We have already started counting down to the epoch of Christmas in Barcelona.  A bit more than a month left until this truly special day will come. Barcelona is a perfect city to celebrate this amazing day with your family surrounded by Christmas lightning, lots of Christmas flea markets and of course drinking hot chocolate with panettone, traditional sweet bread with candied fruits.

In exactly two weeks, the streets of Barcelona will be sparkling with new Christmas lightning, especially the main street of the city – Passeig de Gracia. Actually, 85 km of streets in Barcelona will be covered with newly designed lights, called “Llums de Nadal” en catalan. Moreover, this year new lightning of Passeig de Gracia was inspired in Antoni Gaudí‘s catenary arches. It pays tribute to the modernist architecture and bet on quality design architecture, in line with the values of the promenade and its international relevance. Indispensable to see this beauty!

In addition to sparkling streets, you can also enjoy an ice rink in the heart of Plaza Catalonia. It is a perfect plan to have fun with your family or friends in Barcelona city center. After that you can have a walk to see one of 15 fir trees around the city. Or you can take an advantage and pass by Portal de l’Àngel where as last year will be shine a 17 meters gorgeous fir tree. And as a tradition that last for… already many years, about 26 “galets”, typical kind of pasta that local people use for Christmas soup, will decorate Rambla Catalunya as well.
