Altough flamenco was originally borned in Andalucía, a south region in Spain, you can enjoy flamenco in Barcelona.

Barcelona has a strong flamenco’ s tradition and has hosted greatest flamenco artists. Some of these artists were borned in this city, such as the famous Carmen Amaya, considered the best flamenco dancer of all times. Actually, there is a catalan flamenco genre called “rumba catalana” derived from flamenco rumba, rock and roll and Cuban music.

  1. Tablao Flamenco Cordobés

Founded in 1970 and located in the famous Ramblas de Barcelona, nowadays it’ s still a mainly point of the Barcelona flamenco scene. The venue was designed and decorated inspired by the city of Granada and it’ s famous Alhambra in the typical nazarí style.

Some of the most important flamenco artists such as Farruco, Camarón and Fernanda y Bernarda were part of the opening of this tablao. Nowadays, dancers such as Eva La Yerbabuena, Israel Galván, Rafael de Carmen and Belén Maya can be seen in this tablao.

  1. Tablao de Carmen

A tribute to the famous flamenco dancer Carmen Amaya, who debuted in this same place in 1929 offering a show to the spanish king Alfonso XIII.

This venue is located inside the Poble Espanyol de Montjuïc, where you can find different spaces regarding typical spanish locations, with a feel of a little village.

Founded in 1988, features a mix of established and up and coming performers in the Spanish flamenco scene. Offers two performances from Tuesday to Sunday that cover a variety of flamenco styles.

  1. El Patio Andaluz

In the heart of Barcelona and not far away from the Gràcia district, you can find this Andalusian atmosphere’ s venue. Like a sort of restaurant and bar with Andalusian typical chairs and tables, ceramic tiles and other details. A perfect tablao for not only enjoy flamenco but also trying, if you like, practicing it (the performers use to encourage customers to join the dance).

The tablao features the talents of Jesús Cortés, winner of the National Flamenco Dance prize who has performed in venues all over the world.

Another flamenco show in the heart of Barcelona, near to Provença metro station and 20 minutes from the central Plaça Catalunya.

Refurbished in 2006 combines classical elements of the historic building with contemporary decoration.

The show includes singers, dancers, guitar players and other musicians featuring several different styles of Flamenco.

Perfect flamenco show for large groups as it offers a 380 people capability with a separate lounge area to host special functions and meetings.

This show uses to feature the new generation of Catalan flamenco artists such as Yolanda Cortés, Nacho Blanco and Iván Alcalá flamenco dancers or Alba Carmona and Sara Flores flamenco singers.
