Museums of Barcelona for free? Our choice

Have you heard about a great opportunity as visiting museums of Barcelona for free? Two museums you have to put in you “must visit” list. Museums are opened on Sundays and absolutely free of charge. It is an awesome plan to finish the weekend with a cultural program, isn’t it?

MNAC –Museu Nacional d’Art de Catalunya, this museum represents a national art situated on the top of Monjüic, close to Plaza España. This building was built specially for an Internation Exhibition in 1929. You can find all kind of art (sculpture, canvas, photos, drawings, etc). As well MNAC expose one part of Thyssen-Bornemisza collection. Free entrance: Every Saturday from 3 p.m & on first Sunday of every month. Coinciding with an Internation Day of Museums, on 11 & 24 of September and 18 of May the MNAC has an “Open Day”.

Museu Picasso – Do you admire the art of Pablo Picasso as we do? So welcome to this center which will let you to understand specific but so genius art of famous Spanish artist. About 3.800 pieces of a present collection are waiting you in the heart of Born (Montcada str. 15-23). The museum was created upon an initiative of Picasso in common with his friend a secretary Jaume Sabartès in 1963. There you will find a collection dedicated to self-portraits of the artist. Free entrance: Every Sunday from 3 to 20 p.m. The first Sunday of every month is opened all day.
