Vinçon Barcelona functions as a living museum, a collection of objects for real life, carefully considered and curated. While it is commercial enterprise in principle, at its heart Vinçon could be considered a champion of Spanish culture as well as a forum for bringing international design from New York , Japan, London and the rest of Europe to Spain; Phillippe Starck ( hotel Duquesa de Cardona Barcelona has chairs from this designer in the breakfast room ) and Eames pieces sit alongside Alessi and glassware from the Isle of Arran in Scotland.
In the awar-winning labyrinthine shop, the functional ( vanity mirrors ) sit alongside the exquisite ( vases in jewel-rich colours by italian label Leonardo ). Kitchenware from such names as celebrated UK label Joseph & Joseph, Design House Stockholm and Aladdin caters to every food-lovers’ wishes.
In the first – floor annexe is La Sala Vinçon, a space used as a gallery for an ever-changin roster of temporary exhibitions by both local and international artists.
The Zen-calm courtyard in Barcelona at the back is the sugar on the crema catalana, with a gargantuan tree whose canopy blooms in the roof garden above.
