A modernist building by Gaudi in Paseo de Gracia
Casa Batlló is the famous house designed by Antoni Gaudi ( 1852-1926), the extraordinary Catalan architect. Gaudi was inspired by nature, and his magical building, with its curvy, sensual architecture, is a spiritual tribute of wood, ceramic and glass. From the outside, it looks like a fantasy home, a façade of strange shapes and colours, but inside, the visionary achievement of this 19th century architect begins to unforld.
It is having a worth having a look at Nr 35, Casa Lleó Morera and nr 41, Casa Ametller, two more examples of modernist creativity.
