Plaça Reial
Originally built in order to enhance the Barri Gòtic area, Plaça Reial has subsequently grown into the neighbourhood’s focal point. Rich with restaurants and bars, this is a beautiful designed square with huge palm trees and apartment buildings with large arched doorways and two street lamps designed by a young Antoni Gaudí.
Bar Glaciar’s terrace is a fantastic spot for people watching. Right next to it, Barcelona Pipa Club is one of Barcelona's institutions, a "private-public" bar with no street entrance ( you have to ring the bell and go up to the first floor ) . The Pipa Club hosts le jazz hot several nights a week and even holds a tertulia ( intellectual discussion) on Wednesdays. The Jamboree Jazz club, restaurants and Irish pubs arround make this square an easy spot to start the nightlife of Barcelona
