The Picasso Museum is a 10-minute walk from the hotel Duquesa de Cardona, at Montcada Street 15-23 in the Born Quarter.
Comprising of a row of medieval mansions, with the main entrance now loctaed on Palau Meca, the Picasso Museum is a record of the formative years of the young Picasso who spent time at the nearby La Llotja art school. The exhibition follows his artistic development from 1890 to 1904, from his pre-adolescent portraits and landscape sketches to the intense and innovative work from his Blue Period. The collection also contains a collection of his mature Cubist paintings from 1917. The pièce de résistance, however, is the complete series of 57 canvases based on Velazquez's famous Las Meninas spread across 3 rooms.
